For developers

Client management, built for freelance developers.

Most client-management tools assume you're a wedding photographer. Scopivo doesn't. It handles proposals, contracts, invoices, and time tracking the way a freelance developer or software contractor actually works, hourly or milestone billing, your own Stripe, no creative-industry template marketplace getting in your way.

Free for your first year. No credit card. Your own Stripe, no platform fee.

Why a tool aimed at developers

The big incumbents in this space (HoneyBook, Dubsado, Bonsai, 17hats) earned their audiences in the wedding, photography, and broader creative-services world. That history shows up in the default templates, the marketplace, the onboarding videos, and the feature priorities.

For a freelance developer sending proposals to engineering managers and product leads, the result is a tool that feels mis-aimed: photography-and-wedding sample contracts, intake forms built around event dates, payment flows optimized for retainers with creatives. Scopivo is built around the freelance-developer shape of work instead: hourly or milestone billing, technical statement of work, retainer support, Stripe Connect, multi- currency, and a portal that doesn't look like a wedding invitation.

A freelance developer's workflow in Scopivo

One client, one engagement, end to end. Each step links to the next via automation rules you control.

  1. 1

    Discovery call

Send a booking link from your scheduling page (Pro). The client picks a slot, you get a calendar event and their answers to your intake questions. No Calendly add-on, no separate intake form tool.

  2. 2

    Proposal

Build the proposal from a template (hourly rate or fixed-price package). Send a portal link to your client; they review on a branded page that says nothing about Scopivo, accept with one click, and trigger an automation that creates the contract draft.

  3. 3

    Contract + e-signature

Contract auto-populates from the accepted proposal. Send for signature; the client signs in their browser, you sign yours, both sides get a PDF copy with the audit trail.

  4. 4

    Time tracking

Start the in-app timer or log entries manually against a project. Pro plan; entries roll into invoices automatically with the rate from the project.

  5. 5

    Invoicing

Generate an invoice from time entries, milestones, or as a one-off. Send to the client via your domain; they pay through your Stripe account directly. Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢; Scopivo never sits in the payment path.

  6. 6

    Automation

Workflow rules fire on the lifecycle events that matter: proposal accepted → contract draft; contract signed → project created; invoice paid → thank-you email + revenue recorded. Edit the rules, turn them off, or replace the email templates, all Pro features.

FAQ

Can I bill in EUR / GBP / CAD / AUD?
Yes. Scopivo supports USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, and AUD at the organization level. Set your currency in Settings; all invoices, proposals, and dashboards render in it. Stripe handles the currency exchange on the payment side if your client pays in a different currency than your Stripe account is configured for.
Can I connect my own Stripe account or do I have to use yours?
Your own, via Stripe Connect. The connection takes about two minutes from Settings. Once connected, every client payment lands directly in your Stripe balance, Scopivo never holds the money. You pay Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢ for cards and the standard ACH rate for bank payments; Scopivo charges no platform fee on top.
Does Scopivo offer an API or webhooks?
Not today. The current product is the dashboard, the client portal, and the standard transactional emails. If you have a specific workflow that needs an API hook, email hello@scopivo.com, we're building the roadmap based on real requests, not speculation. CSV export covers most data-out cases.
How does retainer billing work?
Set up a recurring invoice (Pro feature) at the cadence you want: monthly, quarterly, or annually. Scopivo generates and sends the invoice on schedule; the client pays through your Stripe; the automation closes the loop. Useful for retainers, ongoing maintenance contracts, and any recurring engagement.
Can I split a project into milestones with separate payments?
Yes, via payment plans (Pro feature). When you create the invoice, define the installment schedule. For example: 30% on contract sign, 40% at midpoint, 30% on delivery. Each installment generates its own payment link, and Scopivo tracks which ones have cleared.
What does the free year actually include?
1 active client, 1 active project, 3 invoices per month, 1 contract template, 1 proposal template, client portal, e-signatures, Stripe payments, email reminders. Enough to run a single client engagement end-to-end and decide whether the product fits your practice. Pro lifts the caps and adds time tracking, recurring invoices, payment plans, workflow automations, and email templates, for $19/mo (or $190/yr annual, saving 17%).
Will my clients know it's Scopivo?
Not from looking at your documents. Proposals, contracts, invoices, and the client portal carry only your brand, never the Scopivo name or logo. Outbound emails do carry a small "Sent by [your org] via Scopivo" attribution for deliverability (every transactional-email platform does this), but the documents themselves are 100% yours.
Can I bring my team?
Not today. Scopivo is single-user per account; multi-user is on our roadmap but not shipped yet. If you currently work solo or with a 1099 contractor who doesn't need their own login, Scopivo fits. If you have a partner or employee who needs shared access to the same client records, wait for our multi-user release.
